General description
FoodLab® is the ideal method for performing quality and process controls, in real time, directly on food industry production lines.
The speed and ease of use of CDR FoodLab® is analytical methods become competitive advantages for food industries producing oils or fats, or that employ them as ingredients.
CDR FoodLab® can determine:
- Free Fatty Acids in 1 minute
- Peroxide Value in 4 minutes
- p-Anisidine Value in 2 minutes
- Soaps in 2 minutes
- Iodine Value in Palm Oil in 2 minutes
- Polyphenols on Olive Oil in 5 minutes
CDR FoodLab® is the chemical analysis system designed and developed to provide accurate results at every step of the production process: the system is so easy to use that it can be utilized not only in a laboratory, but real time at the production plant for process control or quality control, even by staff with no previous specific lab tech experience.
Brand: CDR Foodlab
Other information
Instruments
CDR FoodLab® Analysis System uses an analyzer based on photometric technology, available in two versions, and a dedicated kit of pipettes.
The ease and reliability of the system is based on exclusive technical features:
- reading cells are equipped with state-of-the-art LED emitters;
- reading and incubation cells are thermostated at 37 ° C;
- the analyzer is supplied pre-calibrated, no further calibration or maintenance is required;
- instruments can be equipped with a printer or PC connection.
Reagent Kits
CDR FoodLab® Analysis Systems use low toxicity disposable pre-vialed reagents, specifically developed by the research laboratories of CDR.
The use of pre-vialed reagents and dedicated analytical procedures allows:
- a sample preparation that is quick and easy, when needed at all;
- making analytical procedures extremely fast and easy;
- removing all needs for complex calibration procedures;
- removing all needs to handle toxic or carcinogenic agents;
- making the amount of chemical waste generated only a fraction of the waste generated by standard methods.
Reagents come in packages containing 10 test tubes each, to perform 10 tests (or packages for 100 tests containing 10 single packages of 10 test tubes each).

Extraction system: The innovative, practical and fast extraction system allows to obtain a sufficient quantity of oil directly from the drupe or from the nuts, by cold pressure and without the use of solvents, to carry out the analyzes for the controls. quality.
The system consists of a press, two containers, a series of optional accessories (pipettes, centrifuge tubes, spatulas, etc.) and a centrifuge to purify the extracted product from the slag (either the one supplied by CDR or a centrifuge with similar characteristics already supplied to the user).
The extraction system can be used on a wide range of food matrices: on fresh olives to subsequently perform tests on small quantities of oil, on all dried fruit to extract oils from walnuts, hazelnuts, peanuts, almonds, Brazil nut …
It is also possible to extract oil from sunflower seeds without having to remove the shell.
Another application is the squeezing of fruit and vegetables, to obtain liquids to be analyzed later.
The system is designed to obtain small quantities of sample but largely sufficient to be able to perform tests using the instruments of the CDR FoodLab line.
